3 Reasons Why Moving Isn't That Bad. . .

Moving...it's something that some of us look at with bright eyes, ready for a fresh start, while others face nervously with fear of the unknown. However you might feel though, moving is an adventure! And its something that we can really use to grow and build up our faith and trust in God, plus our character!

So maybe you just found out that your moving, or have your suspicions of it happening, and don't know how you feel about it. My prayer is that this post will allow you relax and realize just how exciting and amazing moving can truly be.

I've had to move a few time in my life. The first time I was only 5, when my family moved from the Dominican Republic to the United States. That was definitely frightening!! If you think moving cities is hard, imagine moving countries!! I was really young, so I didn't really see it as a big deal, but my parents sure did. They left back so many family members and close friends there, but they came for the opportunity that this awesome country brings. Which brings me to my first point: Moving Brings Opportunity. It doesn't matter if you're moving streets or across the world; being in a new area will definitely bring new chances and opportunities along the way!! I'm very thankful for that move my parents made for my brother and I so long ago, and I hope that you guys are thankful for yours too!

Fast forward a couple years later, and it was time for our second move! My dad was offered an awesome job position in the wonderful state of NC, and we now had to move from the sunshine state of FL. This was definitely a harder move for me. I had made so many great friends! And FL just felt like home to me, a lovely mix of the DR and the states. Even though I was bit reluctant at first, I decided to view the best that I could. Which brings me to point numero 2: God Will Always Provide the Right People in Your Path. It might take time, but you can meet new people wherever you go. Does that mean that they'll replace the people you met before? Absolutely not! But it does mean that you will get the chance to meet wonderful new people to grow with and build budding friendships. God has this wonderful ability to put just the perfect people in our lives, right when we need them. Just pray and trust in Him, and branch out!! A great way to meet new people is to enroll in a class or activity if your moving in the summer, this will give you a chance to get to meet potential new friends before class starts!!

I think that one example where this was very well portrayed in the bible was in Jeremiah 43:12.The few people who were will still alive in Judah after Babylon destroyed Jerusalem were very scared. They wanted to leave to Egypt because they thought that they would be safer there. But they asked Jeremiah the prophet to pray to God instead for His will and promised to do whatever He said. He told them to stay in Judah and told them to not be afraid, for, "I will show you compassion so that he will have compassion on you and restore you to your land." (43:12) And he is willing to do the same thing for us if we just trust in Him!!

As life continues, so did another time to move. Yup!! A third move. Now you might think that we're experts at this, but moving always tends to tug on your heart strings a little, as cheesy as that may sound. Which brings me to the 3rd point: Moving isn't always going to be easy, and you might miss everyone so so so much, but you have to look forward. There are so many beautiful experiences and chances in this life that we forfeit on because we refuse to obey God's calling. And that doesn't just go with just moving, but with anything, from applying for that new job to trying out for the varsity soccer team. The thing is that we can only see so far. God can see our whole lives ahead of us, our whole future. He knows whats best for us, and we just have to trust in Him step by step. Like a baby learning how to walk, we must depend on him to guide us on every path of our lives, step by step.

I pray that this touched you and hopefully gave you strength if your moving or have any big change in your life coming up. Just remember that God will be with you every single step of the way, and that with him anything is possible. Moving might be a little nerve-wracking, but its just an part of this Dulce Vida, so enjoy it and don't be afraid to confidently step out into the horizon!
